About Locat3D

Locat3D goal is to deliver the most functional and disruptive booking platform for the dissemination and use of 3D scanners, 3D design, 3D printers and CNC machines in the professional market. Locat3D will provide the platform's providers with enhanced sustainability and profitability of their investments, as well as providing simplified accessibility for potential users.

Locat3D must be a trustworthy and reliable provider of services. We will create an attractive, inclusive and creative working environment, and as an employer we will be the first choice for competent people. Locat3D shall be the first choice for owners of equipment for additive manufacturing (the providers) for the sale of available production capacity. Primarily these are found today at larger companies within industrial design and product design, in the industry's maintenance environments, as well as at a growing number of providers of printing and/or machining.

Those who want to search for such services via Locat3D, will be professional environments with fewer employees, such as designers and architects, engineering companies associated with the workshop industry as well as larger industrial companies with insufficient own capacity or for other reasons needing external production capacity. Large and costly parts warehouses with a low turnover rate in offshore and land-based industry can be replaced by digitized 3D drawings and "printing on demand". This constitutes a significant growing potential for Locat3D.

There is a high proportion of 3D printers in the professional market that have a low utilization rate, while it is resource-intensive to sell spare capacity beyond own production to new industries for several reasons.

For many users of additive manufacturing, the frequency of use is too small to justify investments in 3D technology and expertise. Finding and renting such capacity is often demanding, especially when surplus capacity on machines is not advertised in the market. Easily administered rental will be able to make relatively heavy investments in additive manufacturing equipment more profitable.

Johan Woo Kvandal

Chairman of the board

Johan Kvandal (b. 1980) is the founder, active owner and board member of several different companies. He has broad international experience and has held key roles in some of Norway's so far largest international procurement projects. Kvandal has extensive knowledge of technology, energy and scaling. He has previously been legal director of Norwegian Defense Materiel Agency, held various management positions at Statnett, worked at the commercial law firm, Thommessen and as a deputy judge.

Kvandal has an MBA degree from INSEAD and is a lawyer from the University of Tromsø. Kvandal has also specialized in negotiations and project management at Harvard Law School and SKEMA Business School respectively.

Mimi K. Berdal

Board member

Mimi Berdal (b. 1959) has since 2005 been self-employed with a focus on investments in start-up and established companies, strategic advice, negotiations, as well as teaching assignments.

Berdal has previously worked as a lawyer and partner in Arntzen de Besche and has also worked in the Nordic Institute for Maritime Law and in TOTAL Norway.

Berdal has broad board experience and is, among other things, chairman of Googtech ASA and Connect Bus AS, and she sits on the boards of Norsk Titanium AS, Kongsberg Digital Holding ASA, Electromagnetic Geoservice ASA, Energima AS, KLP Eiendom AS and Rede Arkitekter AS. Berdal is currently also a director of FREYR and is chairman of the compensation committee at Borregaard ASA.

Berdal has a degree in law from the University of Oslo.

Hans Johans Tofteng

Board member

Hans Johan Tofteng (b. 1967) has extensive experience with SaaS and hardware development nationally, as well as internationally. In 1999, he started the company Avikom, which was an early provider of videoconferencing services. Later, Avikom was expanded and changed its name to Easymeeting, which today develops and supplies digital technology to the healthcare system, which will increase the comfort and well-being of the elderly and those in need of care.

Hans Johan is the founder behind the company and is currently CEO of Easymeeting. He has assisted a number of companies with his expertise and has been involved in strategic planning and development. Today he is also chairman of several companies in Norway, as well as chairman of the company AV Fusion A/S in Denmark.

Thomas Bentzen

Thomas Bentzen (b.1980) has several years of experience from retail trade management. He has also worked as a marketing manager within corporate finance and cash management.

Bentzen also has previous experience as an entrepreneur, where he helped build up a company in energy technology with 10 employees and 16MNOK annual turnover in 4 years. In recent years, he has worked as a marketing manager in Hans Johan Tofteng (b. 1967) has extensive experience with SaaS and hardware development nationally, as well as internationally. His entrepreneurial journey led to the founding of an energy technology company, scaling it to a remarkable 16MNOK annual turnover and a dedicated team of 10 within four years. His recent ventures into the hydropower industry EPCI contracts and energy recovery consultancy at data processing facilities underscore his commitment to sustainable energy solutions. Thomas’s leadership is characterized by a forward-thinking approach, leveraging industry trends and sustainability practices to steer Locat3d towards innovative horizons.

Sten Aksel Jensen, Born in 1972, brings over a quarter-century of industrial production leadership to Locat3d. With a hands-on approach to optimizing workflows and slashing costs across various sectors—from solar cell wafers to concrete elements—Sten exemplifies operational excellence. His efforts have earned ISO 9001 certification and kickstarted ISO 14001 processes for environmental management, reflecting a deep commitment to sustainability. Currently pursuing studies in "Digital Society, Sustainability, and Circular Economy," Sten integrates cutting-edge sustainable practices and digitization into every process, championing waste reduction and energy efficiency. His leadership not only drives Locat3d's adherence to Industry 4.0 innovations but also ensures our operations are sustainable and future-proof.

Aleksi Ukkola, our Chief Product Officer, is the visionary force behind Locat3d's innovative sharing platform for on-demand additive manufacturing. With over 15 years in leadership roles, Aleksi's expertise spans product management, development, and agile project management. His profound understanding of the hardware and software engineering processes, combined with a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, fuels our product innovation. Aleksi’s commitment to understanding customer needs and fostering trust-based collaboration has been pivotal in aligning our product offerings with market demands. Under his leadership, Locat3d is not just advancing in additive manufacturing but is also setting new benchmarks in digitalization and data-analytics solutions. Fredrik Bentzen, born 1994 has a background as a developer for DIPS AS, the leading supplier of eHealth systems for Norwegian hospitals. He also has several years of experience with automation in industry and construction. Fredrik also have experience in project management and as an entrepreneur in a start-up company that operated in energy technology for buildings. He is educated with a B.Sc in Computer Science, and has a Trade certificate in Automation.

Celina Skjolde (Renate Celina Skjolde), born 1980 has 15 years of work experience from the oil service and technology industry where she worked with cultural awareness and development, communication, project management, employee experience & ESG for companies like Aker Solutions, Nissan Motor Corp & Sclumberger. She also has experience in large events, wellbeing and performance, and organizational development. Celina Skjolde joined our team after 6 years in Schibsted where she was Head of Wellbeing and Engagement Manager.
